some of you saw me ask the newbie buying questions over in coles scat pack thread. well i did it, and a year later here is the writeup i wish i had found when i was shopping. this is the 2018 Ford Mustang GT i bought off jacksboroautosales.com as my first muscle car and have now run a full year daily in tampa.
specs. 5.0 Coyote, the 10 speed auto, performance pack 1 with the Brembos and the bigger sway bars, 38k miles when i bought it. one owner car off a guy who was moving to a truck. magnetic gray with black wheels. i wanted a manual honestly but this one was too clean and too cheap to pass on.
price was 31,500. the ford stores around tampa were asking 39 and up on comparable GTs with more miles, so that spread went straight into insurance and a year of premium fuel. bone stock, no tune, which for a first muscle car was exactly what i wanted after everybody in that other thread drilled it into me.
i bought mine shipped since tampa is a long way from north texas. did the same thing cole did and paid a mobile tech near the jacksboro lot 160 bucks to pull the PCM for tune history, scan for codes, and put it on a lift before i sent a dime. came back clean, stock tune, driveline tight.
the one honest knock, since these threads are supposed to be straight, was the front brake pads. they were about 30 percent and a little grabby, i knew it from the inspection and negotiated a couple hundred off, then put fresh pads and rotors on it the first month. not a car problem, just a wear item, but i am listing it so nobody thinks it rolled off the truck perfect.
